والآن تُسحب بواسطة زورق بخاري صغير في رحلتها الأخيرة لتُفكك وتتحطم —
كأنها محاربة عجوز تتجه نحو مصيرها الأخير.
الغروب الذهبي في الخلفية ليس مجرد منظر طبيعي،
بل رمز لنهاية عصر وبداية عصر جديد —
وداع زمن الأشرعة والمجد القديم، وبزوغ عصر البخار والصناعة.
رسم تَرنِر المشهد كله بروح مليئة بالحنين والحزن،
حيث الضوء والضباب والدخان يحكون عن الفقد أكثر من الألوان نفسها.
